Mohamed Salah’s goal in Liverpool’s resounding victory over Toulouse in the early hours of October 27th has helped him break a record established by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry in 2006.

As predicted, Liverpool secured an easy win against Toulouse in their recent match in Group E of the 2023/24 Europa League at Anfield. Liverpool defeated Toulouse 5-1, thanks to goals from Diego Jota, Wataru Endo, Darwin Nunez, Ryan Gravenberch, and Salah. The Egyptian star, Salah, entered the game with about 20 minutes left and scored a beautiful goal in the 93rd minute, sealing a 5-1 victory for The Kop.

Salah Shatters Henry’s Record

Even more remarkable is that this was Mohamed Salah’s 43rd goal in the European Cup. This is also the highest number of goals ever scored by any player for an English club in the European Cup. Of the 43 goals Salah scored in the European Cup wearing Liverpool’s colors, 41 were in the Champions League, with the remaining two in this season’s Europa League. Through this achievement, Liverpool’s star, Salah, has surpassed the record set by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry in 2006. Specifically, it surpasses Henry’s 42 goals in the European Cup during his time at Arsenal: 35 in the Champions League and seven in the UEFA Cup.

In addition, there’s another remarkable record that Salah can add to his collection of records. It includes being the African player with the most goals in the Champions League, the most in European club competitions, and the all-time leading scorer for Liverpool in the Premier League and Europe.
