Harry Kane netted his second consecutive hat-trick, helping Bayern crush Dortmund 4-0 in the 10th round of the Bundesliga.

Before the classic “Der Klassiker” match on November 4th, Dortmund had not won in their last six encounters against Bayern. They aimed to reverse their fortunes but were quickly dismantled by their opponent’s devastating form. In just the fourth minute, from Leroy Sane’s corner kick, Dayot Upamecano headed the opening goal for Bayern. Then, five minutes later, Sane provided another cross, allowing Harry Kane to score from close range, doubling the lead.

Bayern showed their recent loss to the third-division team Saarbrucken in the German Cup on November 1st was just a fluke. After a commanding header that left their opponents stunned, the away team continued to dominate. In contrast, Dortmund had to wait until the 30th minute to find their rhythm. In the second minute of added time in the first half, Donyell Malen missed a chance to reduce the deficit to 1-2, as he shot just wide of the post.

After half-time, Bayern continued to press. Goalkeeper Gregor Kobel had to save his team from Jamal Musiala and Noussair Mazraoui repeatedly. Meanwhile, on the other end, Marco Reus could not beat Manuel Neuer.

In the 72nd minute, Kane sealed Dortmund’s hopes of getting any points. After a dipping cross from the right by Kingsley Coman, the 30-year-old English striker scored from close range to make it 3-0.

After conceding the third goal, Dortmund pushed with all their might to find a consolation goal. However, substitute striker Youssoufa Moukoko missed an excellent opportunity to reduce the deficit. In the 90+3 minute, Kane completed his hat-trick. Receiving a counterattack ball from Aleksandar Pavlovic, the former Tottenham star made a breakthrough through the center and fired a shot from 16 meters into the net, beating Kobel.

Kane secured his second consecutive hat-trick, following the 8-0 victory over Darmstadt in the 9th round. Before that, he also scored a hat-trick in the 7-0 win over Bochum on September 23rd. In total, the 30-year-old forward has scored 17 goals in 14 matches across all competitions for Bayern.

After the victory over Dortmund, Bayern continues to sit in second place in the Bundesliga, maintaining an unbeaten record. Under the guidance of coach Thomas Tuchel, the team has eight wins and two draws after ten rounds, amassing 26 points and trailing Leverkusen by only two points. Meanwhile, Dortmund is in fourth place with 21 points.
